Half-day workshop of the microscopy center - 2025

Manifestations scientifiques Séminaire Actualités
Bâtiment Cehvreul

The Microscopy Platform is pleased to invite you to its second meeting session, which will take place on October 3, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the Chevreul Institute amphitheater.

Users of electron microscopes and probes—whether experts or not—will present results obtained using these instruments.

We will begin with a general presentation by an external guest, followed by three talks focused on spectroscopy (EELS, EDS). Afterwards, those who wish to share their results will have the opportunity to do so. We will then discuss electron probes and an upcoming equipment purchase in this area, as well as share general updates about the platform.

Let’s come together in large numbers to discover the platform’s analytical capabilities and the thematic diversity of the research teams in our environment.

13h30 -14h15: Yves Auad (Laboratoire de Physique du Solide; Univ. Paris-Saclay) :
“The (very) fast revolution of electron detectors in electron microscopy: future opportunities”

14h15-14h45 : Alexandre Mussi (Eq. Plasticité, UMET) : "Transmission electron microscopy of dislocations in a thick specimen using STEM-EELS spectrum imaging".

14h45-15h : Shagor Chowdhury (Eq. PreF, UMET) : Post-Incident Examination of Lithium-Ion Batteries Affected by External Short Circuits

15h-15h15 : Corentin Le Guillou (Eq. MTP, UMET) : Light elements quantification by EDS: application to meteorites

15h15-15h30 : Frank Beclin (Responsable pole microscopie, UMET)

15h30-15h45 : Severine Bellayer  (Eq. PreF, UMET) : Current and future potential analyses using electron probe microanalyser (EPMA

15h45-16h : Sylvain Laforet (Inst. Chevreul)
