The new TITAN Themis of the platform has arrived

In February 2016 our TITAN Themis has arrived! This instrument, at the forefront of European research, will offer a gain in spatial and energy resolution for observations in transmission electron microscopy. The field of expected applications covers all the themes of the Chevreul Institute, from solid-state chemistry to mineralogy of the deep earth, via industrial applications in the field of metallurgy and glasses.

Its arrival is the result of a long-term project, funded by the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, the ERDF, and the CNRS. Its installation on the Lille campus has started and is currently taking place in the new premises built by the university within the new CISIT hall. Commissioning of the microscope is scheduled for April 2016!
